Interview Tips for Veterans who are looking for a Job in Security sphere

One thing that many veterans worry about when they go into interviews after their term of service is over is their possible lack of formal education or their lack of a “typical” work history.  Most security guard jobs are entry level and typically require a high school diploma. Individuals seeking an edge in hiring can pursue additional education such as an associate’s degree in criminal justice.Security guards must also: Be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. For sure ompleting the proper bodyguard training courses will open up a world of new career opportunities for you in the world of security jobs and protective services. Private security companies seek skilled commissioned and non-commissioned officers with combat arms experience, but have a strong preference for ex-Special Forces candidates. You must be ready to deploy, in peak physical condition, and ideally have expertise in jungle or urban combat, intelligence, weapons, maritime security, explosives, VIP close protection or personnel extraction operations. Paramedic or linguistic skills are an added bonus.

During the interview, veterans would do well to highlight their military service and the skills they learned there that will parlay into the work force.  For example, the average veteran has an uncanny ability to follow a task through to completion even under the most intense stress.  Also, veterans can easily identify priorities and can accomplish their priorities despite obstacles.  And two of the most important skills the veteran has over the average person are leadership and teamwork skills.  Emphasizing these things will benefit any veteran in any job interview.
