Marathon winner falls over as he finishes race, tripping over finish line banner

Despite Robert Mbithi having just broken the record for fastest half-marathon in Bath's history, the Kenyan is likely to see his achievement remembered for a comical tumble.

As Mbithi crossed through the finish line banner, arms proudly in the air, the 26-year-old found himself in a tangle and fell straight to the floor.

Luckily, he was not seriously hurt and appeared to take the trip in good humour – managing to laugh at himself as he lay on his back.
